Our search tools include the ability to search by keywords, category, town / village or a combination thereof.

Search by Keyword

Enter the word(s) you want to find into the keyword search box and click the Search button. For best results, limit your searches to only a few words, omitting less descriptive words like “the”, “of”, “and” etc. Start by only searching for one or two words, then add words to expand your search. Keyword searches will search the Name and Keyword fields of each listing. 


The default keyword search looks for any of the words listed. You may narrow your search by telling the search engine how to look for keywords. Keyword searches can be executed in three ways by making a selection in the drop down box:

Search for any of the words listed.

This means any one of the words you type in the search box must be present in a listing to generate a return. The least number of words entered is best.

Search for all the words listed.

This means all words you type in the search box must be present in the listing in order to generate a return. The more words you enter the more specific your search will be.  

Search for the exact phrase.

This means all words in the exact order you enter them must be present in the listing in order to generate a return. 



Search by Category

Select one of our pre-defined categories to show all listing in that category. These search criteria may be used alone or in conjunction with a keyword or town/village search.

Example 1: To search for all listings in the “pizza” category, Select “pizza” in the category dropdown menu box and click the search button. Be sure all other search fields are empty.

Example 2: To narrow the search to “pizza” listings in “Barnstable”, Select “pizza” in the category dropdown box and “Barnstable” in the Town/Village” menu box. Click the Search button. 


Search by Town / Village

The Town/Village menu box allows you to narrow your search of keywords or predefined categories to a specific village. Town/Village searches may only be used in conjunction with a keyword and/or category search
