One of the challenges for a local business
is how to maximize the investment made in a website. You may have done all the right
things to design and create it. You know that it could be very effective, but the question
arises, How does anyone find it?
The Cape Connection’s search directory is specifically
designed to promote local business websites. By aggregating all the Cape’s websites
in a fast and easily accessed directory, we provide a place for people to readily find
your site. Placing a basic listing for $15 in our search directory is an excellent start in
promoting your website. You may place as many additional basic listings in the directory,
for an annual fee of $10 each.
We also offer 8 options to enhance your directory listing
and direct potential customers to your business:
- Add a URL hotlink in your listing
You can optionally ad a link to your Website from
your listing. This feature enables people to click through to any page you designate at
your site. The annual cost for a hot link is $35.
- Add a Map link in your listing
You can add a link to a mapping service called Map-Quest which when clicked on will show
viewers of your listing the exact location of your business. The annual cost for the map
feature is $5.
- Increase the Visability of your listing
You can bold your listing in the search results
page to raise the visability of your listing. The annual cost for bolding your listing is
$5.
- Upgrade to a Priority Listing
This feature gives your Cape Connections listing a priority
position in user search results for your business category or keywords. Activating a
priority listing insures your listing will always appear within the top 10 listings for
the keywords or categories you select. This feature is available on a first come first
serve basis to the first ten businesses per category and keyword. Priority listings are
sold in 1 year increments for $15 each category / keyword combination.
- Become a Category Sponsor
By sponsoring a category, you are provided a permanent banner ad for one year, which is
placed in the right hand column adjacent to search results for a
specific category. Each time a user searches for businesses in that category, your ad will
be prominently displayed. Your sponsor ad is a clickable link to any page you designate at
your website. There are a total of four sponsor ads per category, which are also available
on a first come first serve basis. The top position is considered the premier position and
can be a slightly larger ad. The cost of a category sponsorship is $25.00 per month for

- Become a Keyword Sponsor
Sponsoring a "keyword" or
"keyword phrase" enables you to target your banner ad across category
boundaries. For example, if you sponsored the phrase "real estate" your banner
will appear in results for any search involving real estate. Instead of just a category
search such as Real Estate - Seller Agents or Real Estate - Appraisers. The premier
keyword sponsor will command the top banner position. These positions are offered on a
first come, first served basis. The cost of keyword sponsorship is $30.00 per month for

- Place a General Banner Ad
General banner advertising is also available in several prominent locations on the Cape
Connections website. The rate for large banner ads in rotation is $75 per year. All
